Urantia CarnivoresPinguicula GypsicolaPinguicula gypsicola is a perennial rosette herb. It is heterophyllous, bearing upright, slim carnivorous leaves with backward bending margins in the summer, and a tight rosette of small, hairy, non-carnivorous leaves in the winter. As is standard for Pinguicula, the carnivorous leaves are densely included with stalked mucilaginous and sessile digestive glands, which serve to entice and digest insect prey and soak up the resulting nutrient mixture to complement their nitrate-low environment. The carnivorous leaves of this species are vivid inexperienced to reddish and develop up to 2.5 inches long.
The .75 inch blooms are pink and are born singly on 3.6 inch inflorescences. They bloom in the early part of summer when rain triggers summer growth in June or July.
